This project explores brand identity within a growing creative production space. R&B Studios operates within India’s music and creative industry, where studio branding often feels either informal, visually inconsistent, or overly focused on genre-led expression.

COAL approached this project with a central question: How can a creative production studio feel refined and credible while remaining flexible across music, video, and collaborative work?

R&B Studios had grown beyond its original positioning as a sound recording studio and was moving into video production and larger-scale creative work. The existing identity, while familiar, no longer reflected this shift or the premium direction the brand was taking. The strategy focused on refining the brand rather than rebuilding it, ensuring continuity while elevating perception.
The intent was to position R&B as a high-end, full-scale production house that could confidently operate across music, video, and modern creative formats. The identity needed to feel polished and contemporary, with strong recall and versatility across digital platforms, studio spaces, and client-facing touchpoints.

The exploration began by reviewing R&B’s existing logo and visual language, recognising its sentimental value while identifying the need for a more refined expression.
The process focused on simplifying forms, refining typography, and improving balance to create a composed, premium mark.
Multiple iterations ensured the identity translated seamlessly across music and video, resulting in a flexible system aligned with R&B’s growth.


The identity system is built around a circular form, representing continuity, focus, and creative flow. The mark provides a stable container for the wordmark, creating a sense of cohesion and balance.
Typography plays a central role in defining the brand’s character. The composition is clean and deliberate, allowing the identity to remain legible and recognisable across sizes and backgrounds. The system avoids overt symbolism, instead relying on proportion and restraint to communicate creative maturity.
The typographic system combines clarity with subtle character, supporting both functional communication and brand expression. Type hierarchy and spacing are used to create consistency across applications while allowing flexibility where needed.
The colour palette is anchored in deep, rich tones and supported by warm neutrals and muted accents. These colours reinforce the brand’s premium positioning while remaining versatile across lighting conditions, media formats, and physical spaces.

Retained the brand’s core essence while elevating typography and design to exude luxury and fluidity.
